Brent Budowsky of The Hill is reporting a new McClatchy-Marist poll showing how Bernie Sanders faring very well in a general election match-up against either Donald Trump or Jeb Bush:

In a new McClatchy-Marist poll, Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) leads Republican candidate Donald Trump by a landslide margin of 12 percentage points, 53 to 41. In the McClatchy poll, Sanders also leads former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) by a landslide margin of 10 points, 51 to 41.

Specifically, the 10-point margin against Bush is the newest information, as multiple polls have shown Sanders beating Trump since mid-October. Additional polls will show whether this is a trend, but if so it will start confirming (just as many of us have long observed) that a grassroots-supported Democrat can definitely win against an establishment Republican.

Furthermore, the RCP poll-summaries linked in the Hill article show poll-averages that favor Sanders over Hillary Clinton for each of those match-ups: Against Bush: Sanders +2.0, Clinton +1.0; against Trump: Sanders +4.7, Clinton +4.4.

Now let the number-crunching begin.
